Light Up Nippon Hokkaido 2018

Location: Takino Suzuran Hillside National Park, which is 45 minutes outside of Sapporo.

Details: Light Up Nippon is an event held every August by various cities in Japan. The main aim of Light Up Nippon is to commemorate the areas and people affected by the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami, and help provide funds for restoration efforts. This year the funds raised will go towards aiding the people and areas affected by the 2018 floods in southern Japan.

Hokkaido’s sector of Light Up Nippon plans an event consisting of live music, barbecue, candle art, and the main event being Fireworks. This is one of the largest firework events in Japan and should not be missed!

Schedule:    Events start: 12:00pm.           Fireworks: 7:30pm. 

Tickets: tickets for this event need to be purchased in advance. With tax the price comes to 2,160 yen.
